Do it for the Kids

Looks like the Fire Department was giving a little show and tell at Griffin Elementary School this morning. Hopefully some of the kids will grow up to be firemen and firewomen heros.

The guys over at LAFD are some of the best around. Always attentive, always volunteering their time, always on it.

Check out the informative and constantly updated LAFD blog at lafd.blogspot.com.

Dear Friends,

Your candid photos and supportive words could not be more timely.

As vigilant protectors of Monterey Heights and nearby neighborhoods, the crew at LAFD Station #1 are proud to maintain a 123 year tradition of service.

Since 1886, the men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department have been truly honored to be a part of your community - and nowhere is that commitment more heartfelt than in the time honored tradition of meeting, sharing with and learning from neighborhood children.

We warmly welcome you to visit your Neighborhood Fire Station, so that we can again affirm our promise of always being there when you need us.

Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,

Brian Humphrey
Firefighter/Specialist
Public Service Officer
Los Angeles Fire Department
