Please read the letter below and do whatever you can to keep open spaces open!
Hi All,
Recently I was contacted by an individual who has purchased two parcels of land on which he plans to build a multilevel structure with pool and home recording studio out in the open spaces next to Flat Top.
Though I informed him that this area has none of the required infrastructure (sewer lines, electrical, water or even a paved street) he seems intent on continuing.
This area is one of the last remaining open spaces in Los Angeles. If he succeeds in building on this location, it will pave the way for other developers to do the same and we will lose a very integral part of our community. I have invited the new land owner to our MHIA meeting on Mar. 17, Montecito Heights Rec Center at 7 p.m.
I urge all who care about protecting our beloved Flat top and open spaces to attend.

What a shame. Good luck stopping what will probably be quite an eyesore.
Where will this meeting be held?
PS. Love the blog, my wife and I just moved to Montecito Heights a few months ago. Really loving the neighborhood.
Cool and welcome!
They have the meetings at the Rec Center down by the baseball fields.
Take Homer St. to the end, off of Ave 43.
Roy, this link might be of help. After what happened to the 11 acres of Arcadia Woodland as well as threats to other areas of open space, activist are trying to put together a network to help take action.
You're the BEST, Pasadena Adj.
thanks AC
note to Roy
I've contacted one of the members Cam Stone, and he's asked me to give him a google link as to where this is. If you could write me at my blog address, I'd pass you on to him

....and "Above" if you have access to Roy's e-mail, maybe you could pass this in
thanks! I hope to make it!
