City Life Ain't All That Grand

Driving through Hollywood the last couple of days I spotted this new digital billboard at La Brea and Melrose. The awful ads change about every 10 seconds which means more advertising. More! More! More! I know they have had these on the I-5 for awhile now and they always seem to be so distracting and ugly, especially at night. I hope this is just a one-off digital billboard but I fear this will start a new trend. Of course it is a "Clear Channel Digital Billboard" as it states below the blinking lights.

Just another reason I love living out in the "country hills" in Montecito Heights, and the Northeast in general. We won't see these digital billboards anytime soon out here and especially not along the 110. The turn off from the freeway to start the drive up the hill where you leave all the hustle and bustle of the city life behind you could be one of the best feelings. The hills are all green. The air is so clear you can see for miles and miles. And all the hill flowers are starting to bloom. Spring!
