Bring it on Back

Any good Montecito-ian, who has taken the back route to downtown or even to skip the 110N mess and get to the 101, knows this area. Beautiful old days long gone.

Cool aerial views of the Northeast side of things. Broadway and Main St. and their bridges and the old railway and on and on. That top photo shows the beautiful trees and greenery and just the natural state of the Los Angeles River. Oh what a great time that must have been.

Then the wide shot shows a time in Los Angeles before the 110 or even Hill St. it looks like. Maybe even before Chinatown? No, not that old. The Chinese settled in the 1800's here I believe, I got to go freshen up on my history. You can even see the black smoke from the 1:45 train taking off for Frisco. Amazing pictures. Early 1900's looked like a good time to be in LA.

Nice shots!

By the way, Chinatown was 'relocated' to it's current locale in the 30's to make room to build Union Station...
