Fly Repair

Great little area of Montecito Heights. The chill 10 or so houses live guarded by a freeway, a river, a big park and a mountain. One was for sale a couple months back and sold fairly quick. I can understand. This picture could be Los Angeles in the '50's if you didn't know better.

Around the corner at the end houses lives this crazy dragonfly sculpture. Visitors always ask if they saw what they saw. Noticed it got a little surgery last month with a piece by piece cleaning.

As of July, the fly seemed to be done. The best addition to the piece is the disco ball for the eye. The light reflections make it perfectly eerie.

Anyone know the background of the artist or info on this stretch of town? There is something special in the water out here in the Northeast.

The Cramps "Human Fly"
Neil Young "L.A."

Don't know the story, but here's my pic of it, with the disco eyes in their full glory.

Old Burning Man project. It may be getting ready to fly up there again next month? I met the two ladies that live there, they do lots of studio prop work, very talented.

Very talented. We need more of that in this area. Didn't even think of Burning Man!
